If you are looking for something a bit different from a traditional black leather bag, but something that will still pretty much go with everything then you may want to consider a brown leather bag. The great thing about brown is that it is a earthy and natural looking color that looks simply great in leather. Dark colors, such as brown, also tend to go with more items that brighter colors that need to be paired more closely with other accessories and clothing.
A brown leather bag will only improve in looks with age as this is one of the great key characteristics of leather as a material not only for bags but clothing and shoes. As it gets battered about and more used it looks more distinguished and therefore far more appealing to the eye. It will also soften giving it that great tactile feel which really is one of the best characteristcs of leather goods.
For thousands of years leather has been used as a ubiquitous material that has been used for everything from drinking bottles, to saddles, to wallets and bags. It’s durability along with it’s asthetic appeal mean that it never really goes out of fashion and you can be sure that people will always want it. And when it comes to leather it really must be the real thing. None of this sythentic leather stuff. If you are against leather then that is fine but synthetic leather just dooesn’t have the same feel, appeal or scent of a true quality leather good.
So what should you look for when you are selecting a brown leather bag. Well if you want quality that will last, then you need to be prepared to spend a little more money. Whilst this may seem like unessarcy expense, the reality is that leather goods that have been treated (the tanning process is what leather treatment is know as) then it will last you far longer that one that has been done out of poor quality leather on the cheap. Italian leather is generally regarded as the finest and the best money can buy but how can you tell what is good and what is not. Well you need to look at the graing of the leather, the quality of the stictching in the bag (remembering that it will be used to carry heavy items) and see whether the bag you are selecting comes with any sort of guarentees.
Use you common sense when selecting a brown leather bag and you will end up with a bag that lasts you many years. Don’t skimp on quality and price to get an apparent bargain as this will be false economy if the leather tears or the stictching comes apart easily leaving you wilth a useless bag very quickly.
